Frequently Asked Questions

Is waxing right for me?

Waxing is appropriate for almost everyone! We take special care to treat all skin like sensitive skin—using organic, skin-loving products before and after your service to soothe and protect. Redness, sensitivity, and minor swelling are normal for the first few hours after your appointment, especially if you’re new to waxing or have reactive skin.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Let your hair grow for at least 2 weeks, or to ¼ inch (about the length of a grain of rice). If you can pinch the hair with your fingertips, its likely long enough for the wax.

  • Take a warm shower or bath before your appointment to soften the skin and open pores.

  • You can gently exfoliate with a loofah or scrub, but avoid lotion or oils before waxing.

Can I get waxed during my period?

Absolutely. Menstruation is natural and welcome here. Please arrive with a tampon, sea sponge, or menstrual cup. Some folks find they are more sensitive, so over-the-counter pain relievers or low-dose CBD can help if you're cramping, others find they’re holding less tension in their body and prefer to be waxed during this time.

I’m pregnant—can I still get waxed?

Yes! Waxing is safe throughout pregnancy. Your skin may be more sensitive, so let us know how you're feeling—we’re happy to provide extra pillows or adjustments to support your comfort.

What kind of wax do you use?

We use hard wax for sensitive areas—it's organic, vegan, and fragrance-free to reduce irritation. For larger areas like legs and back, we use strip wax enriched with argan oil and vitamin E to nourish the skin. Post-wax, we apply simple, single-ingredient products tailored to your unique skin needs.

What should I do after my wax?

For the first 24–48 hours, avoid:

  • Tight clothing (opt for loose pants or flowy skirts)

  • Sun exposure, tanning beds

  • Hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga

  • Sex (including oral)

  • Intense exercise or sweating

After 48–72 hours, begin gently exfoliating every other day with a scrub that includes tea tree oil or salicylic acid to prevent ingrown hairs and soften regrowth. Avoid oils and heavy lotions on the waxed area unless recommended by your esthetician—we’re happy to suggest what’s best for your skin.

How often should I get waxed?

We recommend waxing every 4–5 weeks to stay in rhythm with your natural hair growth cycle. This timing helps train the hair to grow back finer, reduces discomfort over time, and yields smoother results. Avoid waiting for all your hair to grow back fully—consistency is key!

What if I’m late to my appointment?

You have a 5-10 minute grace period. If you arrive more than halfway through your appointment time, we may not be able to perform the service.

What’s your cancellation policy?

  • Please cancel or reschedule at least 24–48 hours in advance.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a fee equal to the full cost of the scheduled service.

  • No-shows will also be charged in full, and may result in a temporary block on your account.

  • Late reschedules are treated the same as cancellations.

How do I tip?

We deeply appreciate gratuity. Tips are welcomed in cash or via Venmo/Zelle.
